Yankee Home Lights up The Centre

The Centre, Livingston is to become home to Europe’s largest Yankee Candle store as ‘Yankee at Home’ opens its doors to house-proud shoppers this weekend.

 

After collecting Yankee Candles for 20 years, West Calder residents Jim and Carolyne Kilday recognised a gap in the market. They decided to open the candle store at The Centre to offer shoppers the chance to purchase every kind of Yankee Candle available, including the famous Christmas range, which will feature in-store all year round.

 

After huge success with a small retailing unit on the mall at The Centre and another store in Falkirk, the Kilday’s seized the opportunity to expand again and will open Europe’s biggest Yankee Candle store, in The Centre (totalling to1,300 sq. ft of floor space). Jim and Carolyne purchase all their products directly from the Yankee Candle Company and are already the leading sellers of the Yankee Candle range in Scotland.

 

Jennifer Bruce, marketing manager at The Centre, Livingston said: “We are thrilled that Yankee at Home is opening a new store at The Centre. Yankee Candles are already loved by our shoppers and with a bigger store, there will be an even larger selection of the candles available to our customers.”

Every Yankee candle has been made in a factory in Massachusetts in USA since 1969. Yankee candles and fragrances are unique and made to stringent specifications. The candles are made of the finest quality materials, 100% cotton wicks and highly refined paraffin waxes specially blended for optimum burning and fragrance performance.

 

The Centre, Livingston, located 30 minutes from Glasgow and 15 minutes from Edinburgh, is one of Scotland’s newest shopping destinations featuring 155 stores and a selection of restaurants from around the world all under one roof.
