New independent retailer

Date: 15 Dec 2009

Shoppers will be able to benefit from even more choice at The Centre, Livingston this Christmas with a new independent retailer now open and offering a range of unique gifts.

Gift store Green & Pink has recently opened and offers something ‘a little different’ including bespoke artwork, contemporary jewellery from independent designers across the UK as well as items from the popular Ness range.

Alison Niven, The Centre director said: “We are delighted to welcome Green & Pink to The Centre and I’m confident it will be greatly received by our shoppers.

“The beauty of our shopping centre is that it offers high street favourites such as Debenhams, M&S, Topshop and H&M as well as an array of smaller, independents providing customers with an opportunity to purchase items which may not necessarily be found widely elsewhere.”

Gerry Cameron a Bathgate resident, who is the artist and owner of Green & Pink, is delighted to expand his business and open his second store in West Lothian.

He adds: “Since opening the new store at The Centre it has already proved to be a popular stop for shoppers. They like the fact that we offer a unique range of jewellery, gifts and accessories by UK designers which give us the edge on some of the bigger, high street retailers. Ness bags, purses and brooches, jewellery by artists Caroline Temple and Gail Klevan are amongst the items we stock.

“The store also allows me another avenue to promote my bespoke artwork which I produce at our studio in Seafield which includes abstract, landscape and pop art paintings on aluminium, canvas, glass and perspex, enabling me to supply direct to the consumer without having to rely on galleries which is also a huge benefit.”

Other stores which have recently opened at The Centre include kidswear boutique Babylove, home organisation specialist Howards Storage World, perfume retailer Fragrance House, and kids favourite The Disney Store.

The Centre, Livingston, located 30 minutes from Glasgow and 20 minutes from Edinburgh, is one of Scotland’s newest shopping destinations featuring 155 stores and a selection of restaurants from around the world all under one roof.
