Livingston’s Secret Garden is Unveiled

Following the success of the Elements Square launch in October, shoppers were welcomed into The Wintergarden within The Centre, Livingston for the first time yesterday (Wednesday 17th December) as the first eatery prepared to begin trading.
The Wintergarden, an eating haven situated high above the stores within Elements Square, is a secret garden of tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the stores and is the perfect setting for a coffee or a bite to eat for those looking to enjoy the surroundings of the new centre.
Eateries located in the Wintergarden includes O’Brien’s – the first store who began trading yesterday (Wednesday 17th December) and Peckhams Deli and Cookery School which is expected to open early 2009.
The seating area of The Wintergarden which spans across 223 sq feet is located on the upper level of Elements Square and will provide seating for around 85 people. The area has been fitted with traditional café style seating alongside sofa areas for maximum comfort and relaxation. Over 1,000 plants and trees surround the hideaway creating a leafy garden environment, and include some unusual species of olive and fig trees making the space extra special.
Jennifer Bruce, Marketing Manager for The Centre said: “The Wintergarden is hidden high above the stores and offers sanctuary for those looking to take a break from the shops and simply soak up the fantastic atmosphere.
“Since the launch of our new shopping centre back in October, the Wintergarden has sparked a lot of interest and curiosity from shoppers and has become our secret garden. Hundreds of our shoppers ventured up to the area over the weekend to explore and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, many even took along their own food. I’m confident shoppers will continue to be very excited about this development and will visit the Wintergarden retreat for a range of purposes.”
The opening of The Wintergarden is another milestone in The Centre’s development and with area anticipated to be fully let
by summer 2009.
