Britain's Got Talent Star gets a new look at Hush
Date: 10 Jul 2008
Scotland’s very own star of TV show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, Andrew Muir, was on the hunt for a new look on Saturday (5 July) when he visited Hush hair and beauty salon at Livingston’s Almondvale Shopping Centre.
Fondly known as ‘The Singing Plumber’, Andrew, who hails from Fauldhouse in West Lothian impressed both judges and viewers of the ITV talent show when he managed to get to the semi finals with renditions of Paolo Nutini hits.
Now just back from a UK-wide tour alongside the other finalists from the show, Andrew decided to pay his local hair salon a visit after hearing numerous positive reports.
Plus the 24 year-old singer couldn’t have been in safer hands when stylist Mark Walhberg, who has cut hair for stars such as Julia Roberts, Jon Hannah and Gillian Anderson, was drafted in to perform the task.
Andrew said: “Whilst in London, my brother paid me a visit and he had a great new look achieved from this salon. I’ve heard so many fantastic stories about the place so I decided to get my gran to book me an appointment in time for my arrival home.
“I’m incredibly impressed with both the staff and my new cut, and to hear Mark’s stories of when he has cut the hair of the rich and famous immediately puts you at ease. He also told me about the time when he received a diamond as a tip while working in Edinburgh which is an amazing story.
“Although I couldn’t do the same, I vowed that I would definitely be back and sing the salon’s praises – it’s a great addition to the centre.”
The Britain’s Got Talent star captured the hearts of the nation earlier this year with songs such as ‘Last Request’ and ‘Rewind,’ and he now hopes to continue his new-found success with a career in musical theatre.
Andrew continues: “I absolutely loved the TV show and the Britain’s Got Talent tour; it was an amazing experience so whatever I do next will be hard to beat that.
“I still do the odd plumbing job but ultimately, singing is my passion, I’d love to work in London’s West End. I’m in various discussions about my future at the moment but all I know is that it’s an exciting time for me and I love every minute of it.”
