101 Things to Do
Date of Event: 21/07/2008 - 25/07/2008

Over 1,500 young shoppers flocked to Almondvale Shopping Centre this week (Monday 21st to Friday 25th July) to take part in a host of summer activities.
Children gathered to take part in the free activities which included: ballet, yoga and theatre workshops, touch pools from Deep Sea World, a petting stable and a climbing wall.
Crabs, sea urchins and star fish were amongst some of the underwater treats for shoppers on Wednesday (23rd July) as Deep Sea World let kids experience a little bit of the ocean with their amazing touch pool.
Glasgow Climbing Centre was the highlight of Thursday (24th July) as it challenged kids to complete a circuit on the specially erected wall without touching the floor.
Jennifer Bruce, marketing manager said: ““We created this event to offer parents a range of action packed activities designed to keep children entertained during their summer holiday.
“The kids were delighted to take part in something a little bit different, after all it’s not often you have the opportunity to handle some starfish and crabs in the middle of a shopping centre.
“With such a great choice of different activities available to take part in it is no surprise how successful and well received this event has been and definitely something we would consider repeating next year.”
The centre’s week long activities will finish today (Friday 25th July) when the Gorgie City Farm mobile petting stable comes to visit Livingston. Young visitors to The Centre will have the opportunity to cuddle some farm yard friends including rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and even a tortoise.
All activities were free of charge, however the shopping centre continued with its fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care throughout the event.
