Retail Therapy

Date of Event: 07/06/2008 - 08/06/2008

Shopaholics, bargain hunters and window shoppers visiting Almondvale Shopping Centre this weekend (Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June) are in for a treat, as the Livingston hotspot puts a new spin on the term ‘retail therapy’.

From 10am – 5pm over both days, self employed therapist Lorraine Allan from West Calder and her colleagues will be providing shoppers with a host of indulgent treats including Indian head massage, neck and shoulder massage or Reiki. All proceeds will be donated to the centre’s chosen charity Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Lorraine, who has been a practising therapist for 12 years, said: “I am delighted to be able to provide healing sessions to the public and because it is in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care, it makes it even more worthwhile.

“The therapies are incredibly relaxing and a great way to take a break from shopping - both young and old, male and female can enjoy these sessions.”

Shoppers looking to curb a habit or rid themselves of fears will also have the opportunity to receive some advice from a fully qualified hypnotherapist. While those suffering from back pain or sports injuries may also appreciate the chance to speak to a chiropractor who will also be on hand to offer advice.

Jennifer Bruce, marketing manager at Almondvale Shopping Centre said: “This is a new and exciting project for the centre. It is a great way of looking after our customers and providing them with something extra to make shopping at Almondvale Shopping Centre even more of a pleasure.”

All therapies are a £5 donation and are available to over 16s only.
