DisabledGo Accessibility Guide

DisabledGo is an award-winning disability organisation, based in the UK, which produces reports detailing accessibility to venues all over the country. Disabled people visit each venue in person to survey the the facilities and accessibility to people with disabilities, be they mobility, vision- or hearing-based.

 

Lothian Shopmobility

Lothian Shopmobility operates from The Centre with a wide range of wheelchairs and scooters available to hire free of charge. Please note that registration is required with Shopmobility in advance of using the facility, which has recently moved into its new purpose built facility in the ground floor of The Centre Car Park 1 , just off Almondvale Boulevard.

Lothian Shopmobility is run by volunteers and operates Mondays to Saturdays. For further queries, please speak with Lothian Shopmobility directly on 01506 442744.

On days when the facility is closed, there are a small number of wheelchairs available from The Centre customer services desk, outside Bhs.

 

Disabled Parking

There are disabled parking bays in all car parks close to The Centre. The Centre Car Park 1 is closest to Lothian Shopmobility.

 

Induction Loops / Deaf Alerter

Induction Loops are available from the Customer Services Desk outside BHS. There is a Deaf Alerter system in place with The Centre.

 

Registered Assistance Dogs

These are welcome in The Centre.
